Red Leaf Pulp is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide enterprise-wide financial leadership during a period of rapid growth, large-scale capital deployment, and preparation for public-company readiness. As a senior member of the Corporate Team, the CFO will lead corporate and project finance, governance, capital markets strategy, and financial operations to support the company’s multi-billion-dollar development pipeline including Canada’s first commercial-scale wheat-straw pulp and lignin facility. 

The role requires deep expertise in industrial project finance, pulp and paper sector economics, and complex multi-party financing structures involving private, institutional, and government partners. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic & Financial Leadership 

  • Partner with the CEO and EVP, Development to shape financial and capital strategy aligned with Red Leaf’s carbon-negative mission. 
  • Lead corporate equity and debt financing strategies, including engagement with federal/provincial funding agencies. 
  • Oversee enterprise financial planning, risk management, and performance measurement systems. 
  • Translate project economics into enterprise forecasts and valuation frameworks for investors and rating agencies. 

Corporate Finance & Treasury 

  • Lead capital structure optimization, liquidity management, and treasury operations.

Reporting to the EVP, Projects, this role provides strategic and operational leadership across all commercial, contractual, and procurement functions. The successful candidate will ensure effective commercial governance, support project execution, and manage enterprise and project-level commercial risk.

The Director ensures compliance with legislative and company requirements while fostering a proactive culture of safety, prevention, and environmental stewardship. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Program Leadership 

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s HSSE Management System. 
  • Provide direction and technical guidance to HSSE Advisors, Coordinators, and Site Safety and Health Officers (SSHOs). 
  • Support management and operations in achieving corporate HSSE objectives and maintaining compliance with applicable legislation and standards.

Position Summary: 

Red Leaf Pulp is seeking a highly strategic and operational Executive Vice President, Feedstock Procurement & Logistics to oversee the entire feedstock supply chain that supports the company’s bio-based production operations. Reporting to the COO, this executive leader is responsible for securing and managing straw supply, optimizing logistics and storage infrastructure, developing pricing models, and ensuring the integrity of life cycle assessment (LCA) data across the supply chain. 

The EVP plays a critical role in aligning feedstock strategy with operational, financial, and sustainability goals, ensuring long-term feedstock security and efficient delivery to the Regina Alternative Fibre Facility (RAFF) and future projects. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management 

  • Secure long-term straw supply through strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, and regional relationship development.

Position Summary: 

Red Leaf Pulp is seeking a strategic, hands-on General Manager to lead the design, commissioning, and full-scale operation of the new Red Leaf facility in Regina, SK. This role is central to embedding operability into early project phases and scaling the plant into a high-performance manufacturing environment producing 600 ADMT/day of wheat-straw pulp and co-products. Once operational, the General Manager will lead a team of approximately 130 employees across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics, ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable performance.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Project teams to embed operability into plant design.

This leadership role is responsible for developing and deploying the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), building the maintenance team, and ensuring operational readiness ahead of commissioning and full-scale production.   • Develop asset hierarchy, preventive maintenance schedules, and spare parts inventory within the CMMS. 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Operations to ensure all equipment is properly tagged, documented, and integrated. 
  • Establish maintenance KPIs and reporting dashboards to support data-driven decision-making. 

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance 

  • Design and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program aligned with OEM recommendations and operational risk profiles. 
  • Introduce condition-based and predictive maintenance practices where applicable. 
  • Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements. 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Hire, train, and lead a high-performing maintenance team, including millwrights, electricians, and planners. 
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and shift coverage models to support 24/7 operations. 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. 

Reliability & Continuous Improvement 

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) initiatives. 
  • Improve equipment uptime, mean time between failures (MTBF), reliability metrics, and maintenance cost efficiency. 
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and future expansions. 

 

Requirements: 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 8+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. 
  • Proven experience implementing and managing CMMS platforms (e.g., Fiix, SAP PM, Maximo, eMaint). 
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems in manufacturing or process environments. 
  • Demonstrated success building maintenance teams and systems from the ground up.

Position Summary: 

Red Leaf Pulp is seeking a skilled and experienced Process Quality Engineer to support production ramp-up, process optimization, and quality system implementation at our Regina facility. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role is critical in ensuring that wheat straw pulp and co-product outputs meet performance targets and strict specification requirements as the facility moves toward full production capacity. The Process/Quality Engineer will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Feedstock, and Client teams to ensure consistent, high-quality outputs across the value chain. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Process Performance & Ramp-Up 

  • Develop and refine ramp-up curves for production throughput, yield, and quality metrics. 
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure adherence to specification and ramp-up targets. 
  • Support commissioning and startup activities, including process validation, testing, and documentation. 

Quality Systems & Compliance 

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance systems, including SOPs, audits, and corrective action processes. 
  • Enforce specification compliance across all process stages and product types. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). 

Troubleshooting & Optimization 

  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve process deviations. 
  • Analyze process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and cost performance. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Position Summary: 

Red Leaf Pulp is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the execution of the Regina Alternative Fibre Facility (RAFF) the company’s flagship project and Canada’s first facility converting agricultural residues into sustainable, low-carbon pulp products. Reporting to the EVP, Projects, the Project Director will lead the planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up of the RAFF project. 

This role is accountable for delivering the project safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Red Leaf Pulp’s objectives for quality, cost, schedule, environmental performance, and operational readiness. The Project Director will lead an integrated, multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with contractors, consultants, external partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Project Leadership & Strategy 

  • Provide overall direction, leadership, and management for the RAFF project from development through commissioning and handover. 
  • Lead implementation of project execution strategies aligned with corporate goals, stakeholder expectations, and approved budgets and schedules. 
  • Establish and maintain clear governance, reporting, and communications frameworks. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between project execution teams and executive leadership. 

Execution Oversight 

  • Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities to ensure integrated, coordinated execution. 
  • Manage project risk through proactive identification, mitigation planning, and reporting. 
  • Ensure all work aligns with design intent, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. 
  • Oversee performance of major contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure adherence to contractual commitments. 
  • Maintain a strong focus on HSSE performance, promoting Red Leaf Pulp’s values and safety culture. 

Commercial & Financial Management 

  • Accountable for project cost control, forecasting, and financial performance against approved budgets. 
  • Approve contractual commitments and changes in coordination with the Director, Commercial and Contracts. 
  • Support procurement strategy, contract negotiations, and claims resolution. 
  • Provide regular status updates to executive leadership covering cost, schedule, risk, and key performance indicators. 

Stakeholder & Interface Management 

  • Lead coordination with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and community stakeholders for permitting and compliance. 
  • Collaborate with Operations, HSSE, Engineering, and Commissioning teams to ensure seamless transition from construction to operations. 
  • Represent Red Leaf Pulp in community and stakeholder engagements related to the RAFF project. 

Team Leadership 

  • Build and manage a high-performing, multi-disciplinary project team aligned with company culture and project objectives.

Requirements: 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Minimum 20 years of progressive project management experience in industrial, manufacturing, or process-based industries. 
  • Proven experience leading large-scale capital projects ($500M+), ideally in pulp, paper, bio-products, or comparable process sectors. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including contract strategy, procurement, and risk management. 
  • Deep understanding of project controls, scheduling, and cost management systems. 
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline. 
  • PMP, P.Eng., or equivalent designation considered an asset.
